Glass Spot & Futures Price Market This Week

National Average Price of Float Glass

图片

  • The main glass futures contract FG2609 trended downward this week. Hit by typhoons and other factors, spot trading remained sluggish. Producers are eager to destock, quotations fell across regions, and overall transaction prices moved lower. On the supply side, two lines halted production and two switched product formulas, cutting total output. Downstream buyers only purchased rigid demand, leading to inventory accumulation across the sector. The market remains oversupplied with weak demand; glass spot prices are expected to fluctuate weakly in the short term.

  • Glass inventories edged up this week. Total stocks of tracked national float glass manufacturers hit 76.107 million weight boxes, up 107,000 weight boxes or 0.14% week-on-week and 17.2% year-on-year.

  • North China: Trading stayed slow this week. Some Shahe producers cut prices to clear goods while buyers restocked on dips, yet regional inventories still rose moderately.

  • East China: One production line shut down this week. Multiple manufacturers discounted shipments; prices fluctuated lower in Zhejiang and Jiangsu with weaker average transaction prices.

  • Central China: One line suspended production. Poor shipments plagued factories in early week due to bad weather. Conditions improved later as weather cleared and price cuts boosted sales, driving mild inventory destocking in Central China.

  • South China: Factory quotations held steady this week with flexible selling by individual players; overall trading stayed muted.

  • Northeast ChinaPrices edged down narrowly. Shipment performance diverged among producers, and total inventories inched up.

  • Southwest ChinaSupply output is set to rise while downstream buyers remain cautious, keeping the market soft and flat.

  • Northwest ChinaLocal demand stayed thin; some producers shipped goods out of the region, trimming regional inventories.

PV Glass Prices This Week

  • The PV glass spot market stayed bearish this week following the restart of one production line. Downstream clients only covered essential demand, resulting in thin trading; most producers held prices steady while waiting for clearer signals. Cold maintenance remains the mainstream plan for production lines, continuously reducing sector inventories. PV glass prices are projected to fluctuate sideways shortly.

Unit Dynamics This Week

Qinghai Fatou plant undergoes maintenance; Hubei Shuanghuan and Lianyungang Debang cut operating loads. Gansu ammonia-alkali plants are scheduled for maintenance later.

  • The operating rate of domestic soda ash plants stood at 78.73%, down 0.56 percentage points week-on-week (79.29% last week). Soda ash output reached 749,900 tons, a weekly drop of 5,300 tons or 0.70%. Total producer inventories hit 1.7544 million tons, rising 7,400 tons or 0.42% week-on-week.

  • The soda ash market remained weak. Light and heavy soda prices declined in some regions amid sluggish trading and mild inventory growth. Downstream buyers stayed on the sidelines with cautious purchases. More plants will enter maintenance later; soda ash prices are forecast to swing sideways in the near term.

Fuel|Petroleum Coke & LNG

图片National Average Price of Petroleum Coke图片

  • Domestic petroleum coke prices rose then fell this week, with trading turning weak from solid.

  • Major refineries posted decent shipments and balanced regional stocks with stable coke prices. Independent refineries saw slower trading and adjusted quotations both up and down.

  • Supply output fluctuated within a narrow range; petroleum coke prices will likely range-bound in the short run.

National Average Price of LNG图片
  • 133 domestic LNG plants; 70 units shut down/maintained/price reporting halted/domestic sales only, external operating rate 47%.

  • Domestic LNG prices kept falling amid heavy trading pressure. Typhoons suppressed market activity early in the week while producers tried to prop up prices. Raw gas bidding delivered higher supply at lower prices later, forcing upstream liquid prices down. No strong bullish fundamentals emerged; LNG prices still have room to drop in the near term.

Aluminum|Aluminum Ingot

图片图片

  • Aluminum ingot spot prices traded within a range with divergent regional activity. Suppliers mostly lowered processing fees, downstream buyers restocked on price dips, and sector inventories continued to fall.

Aluminum|Aluminum Profile

  • SMM data shows domestic social electrolytic aluminum inventories stood at 1.007 million tons, down 55,000 tons week-on-week.

  • SHFE aluminum futures swung sharply lower then rebounded, moving in tandem with spot prices. Overall trading remained thin; suppliers adjusted prices flexibly, and downstream buyers only restocked essential demand amid high temperatures. Falling industry inventories strongly support prices, which are expected to fluctuate widely short term.
