On July 2, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation, issued three mandatory national standards on energy consumption and efficiency for the PV industry: Limit of Energy Consumption per Unit Product for Monocrystalline Silicon, Minimum Allowable Values of Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Grades for Crystalline Silicon PV Modules and Inverters, and Limit of Energy Consumption per Unit Product for Polysilicon and Germanium. The standards cover key links in the PV industrial chain including polysilicon, silicon wafers, modules and inverters, and will take effect on January 1, 2027.
